Today, Dr. Rashad Shaea, Deputy Governor of Aden, inaugurated the distribution of food baskets at October School in Inma City. The aid targets needy families and the poor from the Al-Huswa, Al-Shaab, and Abu Harbaa areas in Al-Buraiqa district. The project is implemented by Future Mirrors Organization for Development and Relief with funding from a generous donor.

This initiative is part of the 2025 Humanitarian Relief Project, which includes the distribution of 5,000 food baskets across several governorates: 2,000 baskets in Aden, 1,500 in Lahj, and 1,500 in Abyan.

In a statement to the media, Dr. Rashad Shaea emphasized the importance of the charitable activities carried out by Future Mirrors Organization in supporting the needy and alleviating their suffering. He highlighted that the baskets contain essential food items required by poor families, especially in Aden and the Lahj and Abyan governorates.

He pointed out that the provincial leadership, represented by His Excellency the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, will provide full care and support to facilitate the implementation of Future Mirrors’ charitable projects.

Dr. Shaea also praised the organization’s initiative to conduct fogging campaigns to combat mosquitoes in areas known to be breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes.

He prayed that these efforts be rewarded abundantly and congratulated everyone on the approaching end of the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ruqayya Ahmed Ahmed, Chairperson of Future Mirrors Organization for Development and Relief, explained that this year’s food basket project is a generous donation from a benefactor and implemented by the organization. Each basket includes 25 kg of flour, 10 kg of sugar, 10 kg of rice, 8 liters of cooking oil, a carton of pasta, a carton of dates, and a carton of tomato paste. The distribution targets needy families, certain cases at security checkpoints, traffic officers, displaced persons, and poor residents in remote areas of Al-Buraiqa district, based on a prepared database of eligible beneficiaries.

She added that the distribution process has already been launched in Lahj governorate, and will be inaugurated tomorrow in Abyan governorate. The distribution will continue in other targeted areas in Aden, such as Al-Qalou’a in Al-Tawahi district and Al-Hufra in Al-Buraiqa district.
